Say "Goodbye Gates!" everybody!

Say "Goodbye Gates!" everybody!

Through sickness and health, for richer or poorer, Bill Gates, the chairman, owner and forefront of the multi-billion dollar company has finally called it quits. After a good 2-year transistion period, Gates has managed to slowly take less and less responsibility within his company, leaving younger, highly promising workers to handle his job. The reason for the transistion is because Gates wanted to make sure the company would survive without him, which he is confident it will after spending so much time with the people who will be taking over his work. This now leaves him with time to do what he really wants to do, which is spend time and money funding the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Of course, Gates is not giving up his role as chairman of the company, and has said himself that he has no plans to do so.

"I don't see a time in the future when I won't be chairman of this company, I see myself as always being the largest shareholder in Microsoft. Steve is the second largest, and I think we both take a lot of pride in that..."

"...This was a hard decision for me," Gates added. "I'm very lucky to have two passions that I feel are so important and so challenging. As I prepare for this change, I firmly believe the road ahead for Microsoft is as bright as ever."
