Which Browser feature is most important to you? Recently, we've all been hearing this and that about the new BETA browsers. I think it's safe to say we're all slightly confused, with all these extensions, add-ons and features we just don't really get. Some are built into the browser, some you have to download - and it's all just a scheme in order to get you to download certain browsers. The real question is - Why features actually matter when it comes to your everyday browsing? Here is a list of 5 popular features, with descriptions over how they benefit your internet browsing - Then, it's up to you to choose which feature is actually worth having. 1. Smart Address Bar:
The smart memory system of such features as "OmniBox" (Chrome) and "AwesomeBar" (FireFox 3.1) makes surfing much simpler. Start typing the address you wish to visit and the memory system will create a list based on your history, bookmarks and most visited sites which will help you find what you are looking for quickly and easily. 2. Tab Specific Crashing:
When using your browser for intense web applications, it's always annoying when your browser crashes, losing all of your session and having to restart it all over again. With this new and innovative feature, the only thing that crashes due to any overload is the tab you are using. The rest of your session will stay intact, and usable. 3. Resizeable Text Areas:
When it comes to blogging, commenting or any other form of typing into a text field, it's hard to keep track of where you are with such a small box given to you. This feature allows you to extend the text area to a much easier-to-view size, enabling you to type much more fluently and accurately. 4. Drag and Drop Tabs:
Although FireFox will allow you to move tabs into different orders by dragging and dropping them, other browsers such as Chrome have taken it further. Dragging a tab is the same as in FireFox, but you are also able to drop it into the task bar, creating another browser window. This also works the other way around. 5. Bookmark, History and Password Syncing:
Although this feature has been around a long time, browsers such as Opera 9.6 are issuing versions of their browser with the feature built in. This is a great feature which helps keep all of your passwords, bookmarks and history intact - Meaning you don't have to remember everything yourself.
