Is your Internet not what you were promised?

Is your Internet not what you were promised? Why is it that so many countries are doing so well, and we're stuck at the bottom of the list with slow Internet and inaccurate results? Yes, I said inaccurate results! Virgin Media recently mentioned an error with Internet Speed Tests saying they provided inaccurate results, based on "Dirty Data." Of course, to the common computer user like You and I, that basically means our Internet isn't what we've been promised. The truth is, tests have been made on Internet Speeds based on certain events, measuring the highest speed it reaches. The test usually follows the procedure of sending one file to a computer and timing the download. This however, leaves a few floors in the experiments. 1. The file might be too small to measure accurately enough 2. This measures a speed which is provided at a time when only the developer has access to that connection (Making it much, much faster than the public would ever see it.) 3. It doesn't take into consideration area you are located in, as we all know, that can make a difference. With tests being so inaccurate, when we're hitting the 8Mbps mark now, what margin of error could that leave when we hit (what we at least think is) 50Mbps? I'm no expert, but I think we'll be in for a shock. Let's face it, we're not hitting up the 100Mbps mark any time soon. How bad at this are we?
